75 percent quality mango in my mango production

I visit my mango farm in Mintal Davao City everyday. This time, I want to supply the right and good quality of mango for the buyers in the international market. I am hoping to get at least 75 percent quality mangoes of the total number of tons produced in my farm. Based in my own experiences in mango farming, it is not difficult to produce quality mangoes as long as you monitor your mango trees frequently. Pest and diseases are easy to manage because there are a lot of chemicals available in the market to fight against the unwanted sucking insects but if the climate does not favor during the full anthesis stage of the mango trees, that is really a big problem because there is a possibility that all flowers will not form into "Little Mangoes" and will result into a loss. I hope and pray that this time my mango trees will give us more fruit to cope up with the previous loses of the production cost.

Do You Like Crocodile Meat?

My Daughter Keisha is having their feild trip in Crocodile Park that is located along diversion road Maa, Davao City. The students from Philippine Women's College of Davao nursery class are accompanied with their respective teachers. During their visit in the park , officers and caretakers of the park explained the donts and do's in the park and the students listen very well. They were introduced to different species of animals including the endangered one. There are birds like sea eagle , parrots of different varieties and chicken that comes from other countries. There are also rabbits, tigers, peasants, wild cats, bearcats, snakes that are larger than what we expected. But there is one animal that me and my daughter Keisha like it so much and that is the talking black bird with yellow bick, the "Myna Bird". Myna bird talks a lot, she knows a lot of words and she speaks in a modulated voice. The main attraction of that zoo is the crocodile named "PANGIL". He is 20 feet long and 30 inches wide. He is separated from other crocs and he is the biggest of all crocs inside the crocodile park. After the tour inside the park we proceeded to their reataurant named "Riverwalk" then we have our merienda that is included in the package tour fee but you can also order a separate meal for you if you want an additional menu. The Riverpark restaurant are also serving crocodile meat. Some said that it taste like chicken but I chose not to order because Im already satisfied with the food that I ordered.

Here are some pictures taken during the visit at the crocodile farm.

My New Pair of Sandals

Footwear are really needed for us to protect our feet. I have a slipper that reaches almost a year now and still in good condition. I bought it in one of the stores here in Davao City. It is a black slipper with a native design that the Davaoenos called it "Tinalak". It is really durable and no one can surpass its record among my other pairs of footwear. Awhile ago me and my family go shopping and as we walk towards the grocery department to buy foods, I notice this small cubicle with sandals displayed on top. I was amaze with the items because the materials are so light that you don't even now that your wearing sandals onto your feet so, I decided to buy one. I like the design so much, it is light, very comfortable, and durable OOopppsss.... I would like to add another one.. It is really cheap It cost only 129 pesos.

Happy New Sandal hahahaha!!!

Jun Lozada raising his fist of Rage

MANILA, Philippines -- Clenched fists raised in the air and the singing of the popular protest song “Bayan Ko” (My Country) marked the end of the mass offered at La Salle Greenhills for Rodolfo Noel Lozada Jr., the whistleblower in the allegedly anomalous national broadband network (NBN) project.
Former president Corazon Aquino, the political opposition, rosary-bearing nuns, civil society, and businessmen led the mass attended by what Mandaluyong deputy police chief, Superintendent Joveth Asayo, estimated to be 5,000 people, half of them filling the De La Salle Greenhills gymnasium to capacity, the rest following events inside on oversized projectors on the school grounds.
The school is just a few blocks from the EDSA shrine, the site of two nonviolent "people power" revolts that ousted the dictator Ferdinand Marcos, whom Aquino replaced, and Joseph Estrada, succeeded by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, herself now the subject of demands for resignation over corruption in her administration.
Overwhelmed by the groundswell of support for him, the whistleblower in the alleged graft-ridden national broadband deal, dared his countrymen to "be the change they want to see."
"I thank President Cory [Aquino’s nickname] because it was her idea to celebrate mass. Before, I thought I was alone, now, I know many have adopted me," he said, adding, "This is the biggest family day that I have been to."
Aquino said she will never grow tired of rallying the people against ills in government.
Speaking after the mass, Aquino said she was "praying" for President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, whose administration is beset with allegations of corruption, the latest of which is the NBN scandal.
But she refused to categorically state if she was joining calls for Arroyo’s resignation.
"My only prayer and the prayer of many others is for the truth to come out," said Aquino, wearing a yellow dress -- the popular color of her pro-democracy crusade. She wore a pin with a Philippine flag labeled "Jun Lozada, you're not alone."
Aquino said she was often asked if she ever grows tired of rallying the public.
"Wala akong choice, Pilipinas lang ang aking bayan [I have no choice, the Philippines is my only country]," she said.
"I want us Filipinos to unite," she said.
In her speech, Aquino likened the public support for Lozada to the support she got when her husband, former senator Benigno Aquino Jr. was assassinated in August 1983.
"When Ninoy was assassinated, had you not been there for me, you will not see me here. Because of the support that you have shown, I want us Filipinos to be united again," she said in Filipino.
Addressing the crowd, also after the mass, Lozada shared a prayer, which he said, "started [him] in this journey."
"Let me be the change I want to see, to do with strength and wisdom, all that needs to be done, and become the hope that I can be, set me free from my fears and hesitations, grant me courage and humility, fill me with spirit to face the challenge and start the change,"Lozada prayed, asking the crowd to listen closely to the words.
"Even if I'm not the light, I can be the spark -- in faith, service, and communion. Let us start the change we want to see, the change that begins with me," he said.
Lozada also took a swipe at the administration, saying he was at a loss for words when one of his children asked him why they were on the run if they were doing the right thing.
"Is this the lesson we want to teach our children? That will go in hiding if you do good? And if you lie and steal from public coffers, you are respected and enjoy good positions?" he said.
"Help me, as a Christian nation, let us teach our children the right thing…that if you do the right thing, you walk with your head up high," he said.
Lozada said that, when he decided to testify before the Senate, “I was just trying to save my soul. I didn’t know I’d save our country’s soul.”
Close to 60 former Cabinet officials from the Aquino, Ramos, Estrada, and Arroyo governments called on incumbent officials to "cut clean" and expose wrongdoings in government.
" We call on all those who can no longer endure this wrongful governance, with its structures of evil and unmoderated greed. It's time to cut clean. It's time to go. Tama na. Sobra na [Enough is enough. Now is the time]," they said in a statement read after the mass.
“We call on all government officials -- Cabinet secretaries, undersecretaries, heads of agencies -- who know about these anomalous transactions to join the heroic stand of Jun Lozada to come forward and speak out,” the statement said.
The former Cabinet executives also called on “all those who know about extrajudicial killings and disappearances to go public and tell the truth.”
Speaking of Arroyo, Teresita Quinto-Deles, former head of the National Anti-Poverty Commission, said: “We were hoping she’d be struck by lighting so she'd come to her senses, but that never happened.”
"We cannot see two more years [of this administration]. The people have lost hope that she [Arroyo] will be hit by lightning and be converted. It doesn't seem that it is ever going to happen," Deles told reporters.
Teresita Deles, who was also Arroyo’s adviser on the peace process, said Lozada's expose was "definitely a trigger" that brought protests against the administration to a "new level."
"For [ex-cabinet secretaries] to come out like this, and very strong, that's a very big thing. This really is too much," she said.
Deles said Arroyo's policy of "survival at all costs" has wrought damage to government institutions.
Vicente Romano, convenor of the anti-Arroyo civil society group Black and White Movement, christened the ex-Cabinet members the "La Salle 60."
Father Manoling Francisco from the Ateneo de Manila University led the concelebrated mass at the La Salle Greenhills, where Lozada and his family have sought sanctuary since he surfaced two weeks ago.
Among those at the mass were former vice president Teofisto Guingona, former Senate president Franklin Drilon, former House Speaker Jose De Venecia, former cabinet secretaries, Senators Benigno Aquino III and Manuel Roxas II, and Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim.
Also present was De Venecia's son, Jose III, who first exposed the alleged overprice of the $329-million contract between the government and China's ZTE Corp.
Arroyo's former finance secretary, Cesar Purisima, former finance secretary Roberto de Ocampo, former Central Bank governor Jose Cuisia, and Makati Business Club executive director Alberto Lim were also present.
Lozada Jr. is the former government consultant who exposed alleged large-scale bribery in the $329-million NBN contract awarded to China’s ZTE Corp., which was scrapped after the Senate began its inquiry into the scandal-tainted deal.
He has accused former Commission on Elections chairman Benjamin Abalos Sr. of demanding a huge kickback from the deal and also alleged that Arroyo's husband, Jose Miguel, took part in backroom negotiations for the contract.
Both men have denied the allegations, and ZTE has denied bribing Philippine officials. The Chinese firm has also refused to cooperate with the Senate inquiry, which it branded a “political circus.”
Opposition senators also want to know if Arroyo herself committed any wrongdoing in the deal but former socioeconomic planning secretary Romulo Neri, who has said Abalos offered him a bribe, has refused to testify before the Senate about his closed-door talks with Arroyo about the controversial project.
On Friday, during a protest rally in Makati City to demand Arroyo’s resignation, De Venecia III directly linked Arroyo to the kickbacks, saying she, her husband, Abalos and their “cabal” stood to gain P10 billion had the NBN deal pushed through.
Lozada has also alleged that government security men held him briefly as he arrived from a foreign trip, apparently to prevent him from testifying, prompting him to decide to seek Senate protection and testify. Police have denied the allegation.
Political tensions heightened after Lozada emerged two weeks ago, weeping and looking scared on nationwide TV as he made the allegations.
As public outrage over the allegations grew, military officials last week hastily made public a number of supposed security threats, including alleged assassination plots against Arroyo by Al-Qaeda-linked militants and communist rebels. They brought in additional tanks and troops to the capital, where fresh coup rumors have also spread.
The opposition dismissed the alleged plot as a means to scare the public from joining anti-Arroyo protests.
Arroyo has survived three opposition impeachment bids and four attempted power grabs, mainly because of support from loyal generals and a formidable political coalition during her seven tumultuous years in power.

Police men, clueless on 'threat' to Lozada

A police official tasked to secure Senate witness Rodolfo Noel Lozada Jr. last week said he did not know who Lozada was hiding from.Senior Superintendent Paul Mascariñas, deputy director of the Police Security and Protection Office (PSPO), told the Senate that he was only ordered to form a team and proceed to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport to fetch and protect a person he did not know.“While having lunch with my director, Chief Superintendent Romeo Hilomen instructed me to form a team [and fetch someone at the airport],” Mascariñas said, adding that he only knew Lozada was somehow connected to the botched $329-million national broadband network deal mess.Asked by the senators if he was informed of the specific threat against Lozada, Mascariñas repeatedly answered: “I was advised that this person was under threat. There was nothing specific.”He said he did not ask the Senate witness who he was hiding from. He said the threats could come from "the administration, the NPA (New People’s Army) or even from anyone.”NAIA security chief Angel Atutubo said he did not ask the policemen why they were taking the Senate witness at the airport.Atutubo said the Rodolfo Valeroso of the Aviation Security Group, whom he initially identified as Senior Police Officer 4 Roger Valeroso, was the only person who coordinated to him about Lozada’s request for protection. The former military general said the people who took Lozada only told him that “they will provide maximum security for Lozada.”He, however, failed to ask what kind of threat Lozada was receiving and how severe the threats were.Earlier, both officials corroborated each other’s statements about Lozada’s arrival from Hong Kong up to the time that Senate witness was taken out of the airport. However, senators hinted that the officials made inconsistent statements about the death threat and the possible neglect of proper immigration and security rules at the airport.Senators grilled Atutubo after learning that Lozada left the airport without being processed at the airport’s immigration line.Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano, chairman of the Blue Ribbon Committee, said airport officials and the policemen who took Lozada were in a hurry leaving the airport to avoid being seen by members of the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms, the media and the Senate witness’ family.Atutubo said Lozada’s case was special even if he was not aware of the specific threat that Senate witness was facing.Senate President Manuel Villar said he “resents” the way the airport, police and government officials wanted to make it look like that Lozada was running away from the Senate.“I noticed that there is some kind of an attitude on the part of our law enforcement people, government officials from the executive department, like there is a tendency to prevent [Lozada] from attending to the Senate,” Villar said.He added: “It seems something big is going to happen and Lozada will be killed.”The Senate president said Lozada’s wife, Violeta, was genuinely worried about her husband’s safety after failing to meet him at the airport.Earlier, Environment Secretary Lito Atienza said he called up Director General Avelino Razon Jr., Philippine National Police chief, on Tuesday last week to ask security for Lozada.Razon confirmed Atienza’s testimony. He said he immediately directed the PSPO to provide security for Lozada.

Only The Truth, Not Lies said CBCP Head On the Issue Of Jun Lozada

Archbishop of Jaro, Angel Lagdameo, on Sunday said that the "public confessions" made in the past few days by ousted House speaker Jose de Venecia Jr. and resigned environment official Rodolfo "Jun" Lozada Jr. may yet serve the country that "has too long been captive to the corruption of people in governance.""Their public confession[s] may be considered a providential event that may yet save our country from being hostage to scandalous and shady government deals that offend the common good and serve only personal, family and group interests," said Lagdameo in a statement posted in the Web site of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP).Lagdameo, CBCP president, said that the disclosures of de Venecia and Lozada were both "courageous but damaging" to the two."It was courageous to come out in the open to ‘publicly confess’ the high level of graft and corruption that they knew all along and ‘somehow’ have been involved in. But it was also damaging to their political career as well as to significant others who are in high governance. Damaging also because they opened themselves to further scrutiny and inquiry," said Lagdameo.Lagdameo reiterated an earlier statement by Catholic bishops which he said "strongly lamented the absence of social conscience today" which he said was "the root cause of our systemic graft and corruption."Lagdameo in his statement however believed that disclosing the "truth" would be most beneficial to the Filipino people."Truth hurts. Truth liberates. But the truth must be served. The truth will set our country free," said Lagdameo. "We have to confess that corruption is in truth our greatest shame as a people."Lagdameo endorsed an initiative "Crusade for Truth" of the Association of the Major Religious Superiors of the Philippine (AMRSP), civil groups and clergy. He also endorsed the "Watch and Pray" activity of the Parish Pastoral Councils for Responsible Voting (PPC-RV)."Only the truth, not lies and deceits, will set our country free. This truth challenges us now to communal action," said Lagdameo.Catholic bishops Friday rallied behind the administration of La Salle Greenhills which gave sanctuary to Lozada."The law of providing sanctuary for people in danger of death though without guilt is a long, sacred practice of the Church the world over," Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Oscar Cruz, former CBCP president, said."It was Lozada himself who asked to be taken to La Salle. And we could just imagine if La Salle refused to give sanctuary or place of safety," the prelate stressed.Cruz recalled how the Church provided sanctuary to T/Sgt. Vidal Doble, the holder of the original alleged taped conversation between President Arroyo and former Elections Commissioner Virgilio Garcillano who sought refuge in San Carlos seminary in Makati City. Two other bishops aired their support for LSGH. "When it comes to issues involving the truth, the Church will do everything. And we hope this will continue," Caloocan Bishop Deogracias Iniguez said.Manila Auxiliary Bishop Broderick Pabillo also said there was nothing wrong with the support shown by the clergy to Lozada.Pabillo, who heads CBCP’s National Secretariat for Social Action, Peace and Justice, stressed: "This issue is about the truth and we in the Church will do all we can to help people who hold the truth and seek our protection and guidance. That is our role."Escorted by Pabillo and several nuns, Lozada faced the media at 2 a.m. Thursday at a hastily-called press conference in La Salle Greenhills in Mandaluyong City.Lozada, the latest Senate witness in the investigation on the alleged NBN briberies and overprice, has linked First Gentleman Jose Miguel Arroyo, former elections chief Benjamin Abalos Jr. and Commission on Higher Education chairman Romulo Neri to the scandal, which rekindled calls for the resignation of President Arroyo.Lozada , when he surfaced in a press conference Thursday considered himself resigned form his post as president of Philippine Forest Corporation and has since sought refuge in the Senate after having been provided sanctuary by brothers of La Salle Greenhills.De Venecia, just before the House of Representatives started to vote for his ouster, revealed in an emotional speech anomalies in the Arroyo administration allegedly masterminded by President Arroyo's biological and official family. His ouster was widely believed to be connected to the testimony of his son Joey in a Senate hearing which directly linked Mr. Arroyo to the NBN controversy.
